Software Engineer, Slingshot Product Team
Capital One
- Built customer-facing dashboards for Capital One Slingshot, a cost and performance optimization product for Snowflake users, from the GraphQL backend to the React interface.
- Shipped Data Explorer on the new dashboard stack with 20+ queryable fields for self-service analysis. It moved to the top of the application's navigation and other teams reused its components.
- Built the Warehouse Performance, Contract Analysis and Data Explorer dashboard features (YAML, TypeScript, React), including interactive bar-chart drill-down and filters that stay in sync, with a dynamic "top 10 + Other" breakdown that re-queries as filters change.
- Added GraphQL support to a TypeScript backend and built reusable React dashboard components, contributing to the team's replacement of 10 legacy QuickSight dashboards and removal of a single-region reliability dependency.
- Wrote ClickHouse SQL for high-volume analytics and connected Snowflake and Databricks data to the ClickHouse layer behind the GraphQL dashboards.
- Migrated ECS services to hardened, minimal (distroless) container images to reduce attack surface and improve startup time.

Capital One
- Owned and evolved an enterprise cloud compliance platform serving 3,000+ AWS accounts with 200M+ daily policy evaluations, using Cloud Custodian, the open-source policy engine that finds cloud resources, filters them, and takes automated actions such as tagging, notifying or remediating.
- Cut compute costs by an estimated $1M+ a year: built a Python, Lambda, SQS and DynamoDB pre-evaluation step that skips batch jobs when an account lacks the target resource, reducing a fleet from 360 to 300 EC2 instances.
- Scaled the platform from 2 to 6 AWS regions under a two-week audit deadline, supporting a 300% rise in daily executions.
- Led an in-place migration of 100+ live Lambda, ECS and RDS services to a smaller-account model with no service disruption, using blue/green deployments for always-running services.
- Built PostgreSQL and ECS dry-runs for 10,000+ compliance policies across 3,000+ accounts, returning affected-resource findings to authors in pull requests before merge and contributing to an approximately 60% year-over-year drop in flawed-policy incidents.
- Rewrote a sequential event-forwarding job with ThreadPoolExecutor and account batching, cutting deployment time from 2-3 hours to 2-3 minutes for 1,600+ accounts across six regions.
- Mentored 4 interns through Capital One's Technology Internship Program (2024). TechX 2023 Q3 finalist for an AWS Graviton migration saving $1M+ annually.
